Gleaner plans 31st annual Flag Day
June 14, 2017
Gleaner Life Insurance Society will hold its 31st annual Flag Day celebration Tuesday, June 14, beginning at 11 a.m. at Gleaner’s Home Office, 5200 W. U.S. Highway 223 in Adrian.
This free and open-to-the-public event will celebrate the American flag and our country’s devotion to patriotism, honoring veterans and military personnel in service today. In addition to the ceremonial raising of the flag, veterans dressed in full uniform will salute the flag as community members recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Following the program, guests will be treated to a complimentary lunch on the Gleaner grounds. An at-will donation will be collected to support the Michigan Wounded and Returning Warrior Program.
Gleaner is also teaming with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive, which will be held during the Flag Day event, from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Donors are asked to pre-register by entering the sponsor code GLEANER or by calling 800.RED.CROSS.
