Give and Grow

Gleaner Life Insurance Society’s Give and Grow program gives qualifying benefit members a chance to make a difference through charitable service projects. From cleaning up a local park to providing lunches for the homeless, members can choose the service project that best fits the needs of their community. Identify a need in your community and consider how you and your volunteers can help. Once you have a plan, apply for a Give and Grow project.

Please submit your application at least 45 days before your planned activity date to allow enough time for project approval and kit distribution.

Give and Grow grants are awarded for projects that directly involve benefit members and their volunteers in the community to make an impact. Members who are insured or annuitants are eligible to apply. Eight $250 grants will be awarded each month. 

Give and Grow grant recipients will receive:

  • A prefunded $250 Visa card for your project.
  • Branded T-shirts (up to eight) for your team of volunteers.
  • Free resources for promoting your project.
  • A chance to win $1,000 for a charity of your choice. 


Each quarter, any member who completes a Give and Grow project will be entered into a drawing where one winner will receive $1,000 to be given to the charity of their choice.

Project ideas

Give and Grow projects should include anything that improves the community and directly involve members and their volunteers to make a difference in the community.

  • Gather a volunteer squad and beautify a local citizen’s home in need. Grant funds can be used to purchase flowers, mulch, a bird feeder, or other various items. Then have your team bring the necessary tools to get the job done.
  • Host a community dog wash! Use the grant funds to purchase kiddy pools, biodegradable dog shampoo, and be sure there is access to water.
  • Rally team members to sponsor a local preschool or daycare and visit the location to do a project with the kids. Whether it’s reading books or providing an art lesson, grant funds could be used to purchase necessary supplies for the activities. If there are leftover funds, ask the teachers if they need additional supplies for the classroom.
