Volunteering this spring
April 18, 2018
Bring communities to life. Volunteer with Gleaner Life.
As winter comes to a close, find renewal by bringing your community back to life. Whether applying for a Give and Grow service project or getting your local arbor together to complete a monthly activity, spring is a great time to unite with others around a worthy project. Step into the season knowing just one act of kindness can make a difference.
Here are a few ideas to get you started.

- Clean up a local park.
This is a great way to help reduce litter and make parks a little bit safer for children and families. - Start a community garden.
This is a fun environmental activity for you and your volunteers, and the produce can be donated to your local food bank to provide for those in need. - Gather recycling materials.
This project can add up quickly. Use any proceeds to start another community project, like placing recycling bins at a local park to continue to reduce waste. - Organize a community car wash.
You and your volunteers will satisfy many customers with a community car wash, and you can donate the proceeds to a local nonprofit of your choice. - Have a garage sale.
Do some personal spring-cleaning with other volunteers and hold one big garage sale. Whatever you don’t sell can be donated to a local shelter or a local family in need.
Here at Gleaner, we encourage volunteers to participate in arbor activities and Give and Grow service projects. Get inspired and become active in your community with these fun volunteer ideas — or come up with your own. The possibilities are endless. Join us in bringing our mission to life this spring.
